Indian Handcrafted Designer Gong

Step 1: Hang the gong using the cord at the top — from a stand or any secure anchor point. The gong should hang freely with room to swing and vibrate without touching anything.

Step 2: Strike the gong gently near the centre with the mallet. Let the sound open fully before striking again — the resonance builds over time and should not be interrupted.

Step 3: For softer, sustained tones — rub the mallet slowly around the edge of the gong. For a more direct, full tone — strike with a clean, confident swing.

Step 4: Allow the sound to fully decay before ending your session. The silence that follows an extended gong resonance is part of the practice.

The nearly flat profile of this gong is what gives it its characteristic sound. Where a dome-shaped bowl concentrates resonance inward, this gong spreads it outward — wide and sustained.

Played softly, it produces a low, grounding tone that settles the nervous system. Played with more intention, it opens into wave-like overtones that build and layer over one another. The sound continues for a long time after the strike — far longer than most instruments of this size.

It is equally at home in an intimate one-person meditation session or a larger group sound bath. The flat design ensures the vibration carries across a room without losing depth or clarity.

Hand-forged in India by master artisans using techniques refined over decades. Every gong is individually finished and hand-engraved before leaving our workshop in New Delhi.
