Step 1: Hang the gong on a stand at a comfortable striking height — the centre of the gong should be at approximately chest height when seated.

Step 2: Begin with the deep sound mallet. Strike the gong gently near the centre and allow the full resonance to develop before striking again. Do not rush the sound.

Step 3: Breathe with the resonance. Let the sound do the work. The gong will continue to produce overtones for far longer than a bowl — follow them as they evolve and fade.

Step 4: Introduce the resonant mallet for building sustained harmonic layers. Switch between mallets as the session deepens to move between activation, resonance, and stillness.

Step 5: Close the session with a single, slow deep-mallet strike. Allow complete silence to settle before ending.
