Water Flow Chimes

Playing with the mallet: Hold the leather strap in one hand and tap the tubes with the mallet using the other. Each tube produces a clear, distinct tone. Play them individually for precise notes or let the mallet drift across multiple tubes for a flowing, cascading sound.

Swirling: Hold the leather strap and swing the chimes in a slow, circular motion through the air. As the tubes move, they strike each other gently and produce a continuous, layered sound that spreads in all directions. The faster you swirl, the fuller the sound. The slower you swirl, the more individual tones emerge.

For meditation and sound healing: Begin with slow swirling to open a session and fill the space with sound. Move to individual mallet playing as the session deepens and more precise tones are needed. The combination of both playing styles within a single session gives you full range — from ambient sound field to focused single notes.

Music. The flowing, harmonic tones of these chimes work naturally in musical contexts — as a textural instrument alongside other sound healing instruments, in ambient music compositions, or as a standalone solo instrument in live settings.

Meditation. Swirled slowly at the start of a meditation session, the chimes fill the space with a continuous, enveloping sound that brings the mind quickly into stillness.
